Dr. Preeti Sharma is a DNB-qualified pediatrician with close to a decade of experience across some of Central and North India's busiest tertiary care hospitals — from Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital in Delhi to NSCB Medical College Hospital in Jabalpur and M.Y. Hospital & Chacha Nehru Bal Chikitsalaya (CNBC) in Indore.

Her training spans pediatric and neonatal intensive care, pediatric cardiology, and childhood emergencies, with hands-on expertise in ventilation and CPAP. Maintenance fluids by the Holliday–Segar method (100/50/20 rule).

Educational estimate of maintenance fluids for a well child. Needs change with fever, illness, or dehydration. Always confirm with your doctor.

Fever Medicine Dose

Weight-based single-dose estimate for paracetamol & ibuprofen using standard pediatric references.

Important: Educational reference only. Never give ibuprofen under 6 months, or to a dehydrated child, without medical advice. Do not exceed labelled maximums. Confirm every dose with Dr. Preeti Sharma or your pharmacist.

Respiratory Rate Reference

Normal resting breaths-per-minute by age. Count for a full 60 seconds while your child is calm.

Educational ranges (WHO/APLS typical values). Fast breathing, chest indrawing, or bluish lips need urgent medical attention.

Sleep Requirement

Recommended daily sleep by age (American Academy of Sleep Medicine / AAP).

General guidance including naps for younger children. Individual needs vary — discuss persistent sleep concerns with your pediatrician.
